Short description
This project aims at making school gardens, using sack gardening, veranda gardening or big gardens. They will mainly plant vegetables because they are rich in vitamins and minerals needed by the body.
The problem we aim to solve
I want to tackle the need of vitamin and minerals for students and pupils in the school. Some children suffer from malnutrition because of lack of vitamins and minerals, that’s why I am suggesting a solution at the school.
Our solution
The school garden project aims at making gardens in the identified schools for the project as pilot. In these gardens, we shall plant vegetables which the beneficiary will be the students, pupils, teachers and some given to the parents depending on the amount harvested.
The innovativeness of our approach
This approach is innovative in that the students/pupils will be involved, they will be learning, and at the same time they will feeding on the harvest. It will improve on the diet of schools and improve on the health of the students/pupils. It can be implemented in a small space even the veranda.
Technologies and Methods
We use the sack garden method most especially in schools where there is no space. We make our own manure from the available rubbish within schools.
Potential Partners
Our partners are schools in this project in that they will be involved in planning, organizing the participants (students/pupils) and then implement it with our support.
