Students as Inventors for Development Aid

Students are also successful inventors of tools that can be applied in development aid. The most recent example is the development of the Scipio-Sensor, an easily comprehensible indicator of drinkable water. Its inventors, a team of students at the University of Bremen, have been recognized with the 1st Prize of the International Contest of Application in Nano-Micro Technology (iCan), a sort of World Cup in microsystems technology. Impulses that encourage students to congenially use their creative potential for smart solutions to global problems are far too limited as well as they are much too little known and recognized in public.
