Short description
The project will venture in practical innovative agricultural activities that will involve engaging and teaching famers to incorporate growing of nutritious food which has be ignored by most families in Northern Uganda and conducting school campaign to spread the gospel of fighting hidden hunger in Uganda.
The problem we aim to solve
In northern Uganda, may families practice subsistence faring which are used for cash as well and the end up relaying only on one source of food (Cassava and beans) throughout the year and this make people to lack vital micro-nutrients that can be got from vegetables, fruits and animal source food which here in is no given priority. Here, we intend to train farmers through hidden hunger campaign to incorporate cultivation of nutritious food alongside staple food and community awareness on the need of balance diet in one life.
Our solution
Engaging farmers to incorporate growing of nutritious food items alongside the staple food through providing farmers with seeds like cabbages, tomatoes, onions, green leaves. Conduct community and school campaign to create awareness on the importance of a balance diet in one life. Engaging the Government of Uganda through Apac District local government to encourage the common people to grow vegetables and citrus through modern farming methods like green farming, shack and ports. Engaging national NGO especially Food for the Hungry, Government of Uganda, Makerere University-department of agriculture and food and nutrition to provide practical approach and solutions to the fight against hidden hunger.
