Global Food Security Index (GFSI) – Ivory Coast

Three key aspects are taken into account by the Global Food Security Index 2016 in order to characterize the food safety and its endangerment in a country:

  • how affordable foods are
  • how obtainable they are
  • and of what quality they are.

28 Indicators are based on this evaluation pattern, including loss of food and the spread of corruption. In the world ranking of 113 countries by a group of experts from the World Bank in June 2016, Ivory Coast is ranked in the last fifths with position 84, degraded 3.9 points compared to the previous year. The evaluation of the quality of food in Ivory Coast includes 13 reached points for the availability of micronutrients and 23.2 points reached for diversity in the diet at a maximum attainable 100 points.
